Registered sex offender, Adam Lee Brown, was arrested after attempting to sexually assault and then stabbing a 10-year-old boy in a Wendy’s restaurant bath room in Portland, Oregon over the weekend.

According to reports, the 10-year-old victim was attacked when he approached the bathroom. Mr. Brown grabbed the boy, drug him inside the bathroom, locked the door, and then attempted to sexually assault the boy. When the boy attempted to fight back he was stabbed several times.  The child’s father attempted to get into the bath room to save his son but was unable and had to go get the restaurant manager to unlock the door.Brown then shoved the child out of the bathroom and locked himself in claiming to have a gun.

A three-hour stand-off commenced between Brown and law enforcement. The restaurant was evacuated and crisis negotiators were brought in to attempt to bring a safe end to the horrific scene. Brown, eventually, surrendered to law enforcement and was taken into custody.

Brown plead “not guilty” on Monday to charges which included kidnapping, assault, and attempted murder. The 10-year-old victim, required surgery to life threatening injuries but is expected to make a full recovery.
